If you haven't caught hard-rock heavyweights Avenged Sevenfold on their recent tour, now is your last chance. The band have announced that they will finish their current U.S. tour with two epic SoCal shows before a crowd of beloved hometown fans at The Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on April 16th, 2009 and at the San Diego Sports Arena on April 17th, 2009. Avenged Sevenfold will also perform at The New Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 18th with special guests Atreyu & Rev Theory. This will be the last chance to catch the Orange County quintet until 2010, marking the end of a hugely successful touring cycle as the band heads into the studio to work on their next album once the tour is finished. Avenged Sevenfold have been on the road for more than a year, playing to packed arenas on the fourth annual Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour, as well as a European tour with rock legends Iron Maiden. Avenged Sevenfold are currently on the third leg of their extensive North American tour. The tour, a co-headlining jaunt with Buckcherry that began last fall, has been a triumphant success with numerous sold-out shows, resulting in the extension of the tour to meet demand. With tickets at just under $40 it has been one of the most thriving rock tours of the year. "After touring the world for pretty much two years straight, the stars aligned and have us finishing up in Southern California and Las Vegas," says the band's guitarist Zacky Vengeance. "If I could offer one piece of inside info it would be that these shows are the ones to see. We will be celebrating a very successful run and 10 years of madness that all started in the great state of California (though our friends in Las Vegas know how to throw a party so we can't leave them out either). We are f*cking excited to be home and leave everything we have on the table before we get to work on a new kick-ass album. So I am personally inviting you to come out alongside our closest friends and family and leave the ear plugs at home as we throw down for these end-of-tour shows. Don't be the one left out." The band is touring behind the self-produced Avenged Sevenfold, which topped the Billboard Alternative, Hard, and Rock charts the week after its release in October 2007. It also won the award for "Best Album" at the 2008! Kerrang! Awards. The follow-up to 2005's million-selling City of Evil, Avenged Sevenfold debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200, marking the biggest sales week ever for the quintet. The album has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
